Day 1: Punjabi Turkey Keema

Ingredients

Main

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 2 large onions chopped

  • 2 large tomatoes chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves minced

  • 1 inch ginger minced

  • 2 green chilies chopped

  • 2 tbsp ghee

  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tbsp garam masala

  • salt to taste

  • black pepper to taste

To Serve

  • 1 cup basmati rice cooked

Directions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds until they splutter.

  2. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add garlic, ginger, and green chilies, and sauté for 2 minutes.

  4. Add tomatoes, turmeric, salt, and pepper; cook until tomatoes are soft.

  5. Add ground turkey, cook until browned.

  6. Stir in garam masala and cook for another 5 minutes.

  7. Serve with cooked basmati rice. Reserve 1/3 for next day.

Cook’s Notes:

Reserve 1/3 of the cooked turkey keema for the next day.


Day 2: Turkey Keema with Chickpeas

Ingredients

Main

  • reserved turkey keema

  • 2 cans chickpeas drained

  • 1 tbsp coriander powder

  • 2 tbsp ghee

To Serve

  • naan bread

Directions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan, add reserved turkey keema.

  2. Add chickpeas and coriander powder, mix well.

  3. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Serve with naan bread. Reserve 1/3 for next day.

Cook’s Notes:

Reserve 1/3 of the turkey and chickpea mix for the next day.


Day 3: Spiced Turkey and Pea Curry

Ingredients

Main

  • reserved turkey and chickpea mix

  • 1 cup frozen peas

  • 1 tbsp garam masala

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt

  • 1 tbsp oil

To Serve

  • cooked basmati rice

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add reserved turkey and chickpea mix.

  2. Add frozen peas and garam masala, cook for 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in yogurt, simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Serve with cooked basmati rice. Reserve 1/3 for next day.

Reserve 1/3 of the curry for the next day.


Day 4: Turkey Curry with Cilantro Rice

Ingredients

Main

  • reserved turkey curry

  • 1 bunch cilantro chopped

To Serve

  • basmati rice cooked

Directions

  1. Reheat reserved turkey curry in a pan.

  2. Mix chopped cilantro with cooked basmati rice.

  3. Serve turkey curry over cilantro rice.

Ensure the curry is heated thoroughly before serving.
